How can I keep my PAT Records?

Why do we need Pat Records?

Pat testing records

Electricity at Work Regulations state that for a duty holder they are to "prove that he took all reasonable steps and exercised all due diligence to avoid the commission of that office".

An effective method for the duty holder

The most effective method that a duty holder can take to prove this in court would be by producing records of all of their equipment which has been Pat Tested.

Records are essential for a proper and organised system of testing to be established.

Pat testing records can provide evidence

Pat Testing records can provide evidence in the even of a prosecution and enable the monitoring of electical equipment highlighting potential faults or trends.

Basically, detailed test records are the most effective method for the duty holder to prove that appropriate measures have been taken to avoid accidents.
